So now that Graduation and Grad night have come and gone, Im starting to think more and more about my trip to Africa. The other day while I was getting ready to leave the house I started thinking about the trip - really what it would take to get there - and it hit me that Im traveling half way around the world to the poorest country on Earth by my self. It made me think, "Wes, what are you thinking?!" I wouldnt say Im scared or afraid of going into international airports trying to find my way to my gate on my own, I would say Im nervous.
I can definitly say the travel alone is going to test me and my faith. I know that Satan sees this is as an opportunity to attack my faith and who I am in Christ as Im a young kid fresh out of high school. I know that Im just going to have to stand firm and trust God in anything that is going to happen. I have to be flexible.
My biggest prayer requests are that I will find my gates no problem, the traveling will be smooth and safe and that I will trust God through all situations on this trip.

- My name is Wes Cummings and I just graduated from Foothill High School and am currently serving God for a month in Liberia, Africa aboard the Africa Mercy. I will be here from July 6 to August 6 and be home the 7th. Right now my plans for when I get back is to join Torchbearers and go to Timberline Bible School in Winter Park, Colorado. After that I plan on going to the University of Colorado at Boulder and major in Communication/Journalism. Im the oldest of four (two brothers and a sister). My favorite things to do, besides school, is playing baseball, and going surfing and snowboarding with my friends. Im a die hard Angel, USC Trojan and Broncos fan. I love baseball...alot. I plan on using my education at UC to go into sports radio or journalism. Well thats pretty much a taste of who I am.

What an exciting time for you Wesley. The Lord has prepared you for this next journey in life and He will be with you every step of the way. Wes, I am SO excited for you as I know that this trip will be life-changing. As for traveling on your own-it's not always easy, but it's a growing experience.
